Searching for Bobby Fischer: film review

Screen Shot SEARCHING FOR BOBBYThis is the story of Josh Waitzken, who, at the age of 7, got hooked on speed chess after watching it at Washington Square Park. His father wants to encourage his son so he hires a chess master to tutor the boy.

“Searching for Bobby Fischer” came from a book by the same title which was written by Josh’s father.

Watching how Josh handled it all at such a young age and the strength that he shows by staying true to himself will encourage and delight you.

He goes on to win his first National Chess Championship at the age of nine.

There’s so much to like about Josh and we will see a part of ourselves in him.
